Τη δυνατότητα να μεταβαίνουν σε γήπεδα προκειμένου να παρακολουθούν αγώνες ποδοσφαίρου θα έχουν για πρώτη φορά από την Παρασκευή οι γυναίκες στη Σαουδική Αραβία.

Όπως ανακοίνωσε το υπουργείο πληροφόρησης τη Δευτέρα, οι αγώνες ποδοσφαίρου, τους οποίους θα παρακολουθήσουν για πρώτη φορά και γυναίκες φίλαθλοι, θα είναι αυτοί μεταξύ των ομάδων Αλ Άχλι και Αλ Μπατίν στις 12 Ιανουαρίου, Αλ Χιλάλ και Αλ Ιτιχάντ την επομένη και Αλ Ετιφάκ και Αλ Φαϊσαλί στις 18 Ιανουαρίου.

Η Γενική Αρχή Αθλητισμού είχε ανακοινώσει τον Οκτώβριο ότι τρία στάδια σε Ριάντ (King Fahd International Stadium), Τζέντα (King Abdullah Sports City) και Νταμάμ (Prince Mohammed ben Fahd Stadium), στα οποία μέχρι σήμερα μπορούσαν να εισέρχονται μόνο άνδρες, θα μπορούν να δέχονται από τις αρχές του 2018 οικογένειες σε ειδικές θέσεις.

Η απόφαση εντάσσεται μεταξύ άλλων μέτρων που έχουν ανακοινωθεί από το βασίλειο της Σαουδικής Αραβίας, όπως η χορήγηση άδειας οδήγησης στις γυναίκες και η επανέναρξη λειτουργίας των κινηματογράφων.
