3) Κάνεις μπάνιο και κολυμπάς με τους φακούς: Οι ειδικοί συμβουλεύουν να κρατάς τους φακούς μακριά από το νερό. Το νερό απορροφάται από τους φακούς επαφής και μπορεί να τους καταστρέψει. Το νερό περιέχοντας μικροοργανισμούς μπορεί να αλλοιώσει τον φακό. Το αποτέλεσμα είναι να μην εφαρμόζει καλά και να τραυματίζει τον κερατοειδή. Οι μικροοργανισμοί μπορεί να εισέλθουν στο μάτι και να προκαλέσουν μόλυνση.

4) Φοράς τους φακούς σου συνέχεια: Κάνε ένα διάλειμμα και μην τους φοράς 24 ώρες το εικοσιτετράωρο. Οι ειδικοί συμβουλεύουν να μην φοράμε παραπάνω από 12 με 14 ώρες την ημέρα.

5) Xρησιμοποιούμε την ίδια θήκη για πολύ καιρό: Όταν η θήκη παραμένει ίδια για πολύ καιρό, πολλαπλασιάζονται οι μικροοργανισμοί. Οι ειδικοί συνιστούν να μην χρησιμοποιούμε την ίδια θήκη παραπάνω από 3 μήνες.
